This Emmanuel Adebayor penalty miss for Spurs helped send Swiss side Basel through to the semi finals of the Europa League

A  dramatic 2-2 in Switzerland saw Spurs equalise late through Clint Dempsey before having Jan Vertonghen sent off in the 90th minute. After a scoreless period of extra time, Basel won the penalty shoot out 4-1.  Tom Huddlestone missed the first for Spurs and when Adebayor missed the 3rd, it was left to the Chilean Marcelo Diaz to score the 4th for Basel and sent them to their first European semi final.
