After Adam Idah's stunning hat-trick against Preston in the last round of the FA Cup, it was hoped that the Cork native would be given an extended run in the Norwich City first team. The 18-year old was remarkable on that occasion, showing the type of composure rarely found in such a young player.

However, it hasn't really worked out like that. Idah did start at Old Trafford in the 4-0 hammering, but has not featured since. With the return of Teemu Pukki to full fitness, he has not even made the matchday squad.

He once again left our for Norwich's FA Cup game at Burnley, but it appears it was for good reason. Idah had been linked with a loan move over the past few weeks and it appears one is now close to coming to fruition.

It was reported yesterday by London News that Charlton were keen on signing the player. Goal's Ronan Murphy believes this is the reasoning behind his absence from today's game.

Should the move go through, Idah would join a side who currently sit in 19th place in the Championship. Charlton, who are managed by Lee Bowyer, started the campaign strongly after promotion from League One but have slowly been sucked into a relegation battle.

They currently sit six points above the relegation zone. Charlton tend to rotate their strikers on a regular basis meaning playing time would not be an issue for the Norwich man.

He would join Irish international Josh Cullen at The Valley, who is currently on loan from West Ham for a second consecutive campaign. He has developed quickly as player during this period, and it would no doubt be hoped Idah could do the same.
