The Republic of Ireland U-18s have picked themselves up after Saturday's defeat to England and recorded an impressive win against the Netherlands during an invitational tournament in Spain this afternoon; a very well-taken Adam Idah goal was sufficient for a 1-0 win.
Ireland's second victory of the tournament, today's win comes after Jim Crawford's side overcame Belgium 2-1 on the opening day. With the senior set-up currently at a far lower-ebb, the U-18s have given fans of Irish football some cause for optimism.
0-0 at the half-way mark, a patient, well-executed Irish move led to the Adam Idah goal that would decide proceedings in Murcia this afternoon. Breaking onto a wonderfully precise through ball, the Norwich City man latched onto the pass and finished confidently beyond the 'keeper.

For the likes of Idah, Kameron Ledwidge and a few other players involved in the controversial European Championships defeat to the Netherlands' U-17 side last May, today's win will no doubt feel particularly sweet.
