According to their YouTube channel AC Milan they want their new stadium want to be:
Easily accessible by public transport, able to enhance the Portello area of the city and offer educational, recreational and social activities to the city of Milan.
At the start of the year, AC Milan revealed plans for a new 48,000-seater stadium with an eye on building it in time for the 2018-19 season.
AC Milan are hoping their new stadium is the most innovative in the world with minor noise disturbances to the city based on the fact that the sound-proof materials that were being used to build it would shield the city from cheering (or crying) AC Milan fans.
The club say that they studied 70 stadia around the world in order to come up with such a modern new home ground. They based their plans on the English model as they liked how environmentally aware fans become when the stadium was closer to home.
AC Milan currently share their stadium, the legendary San Siro, with Inter Milan and both teams pay in excess of €4 million per year for rent. The council owns the land and Inter would have to renegotiate a deal in order to stay their as renters or but the stadium outright.
