"How Dare He"- AC Milan Ultras Want Donnarumma To Be Held Hostage Next Season

The situation regarding AC Milan and their 18-year-old goalkeeping prodigy Gianluigi Donnarumma has turned very ugly over the past 48 hours or so, as the man believed to be the foundation of their rebuilding project and a future club captain has changed his tune, and now wishes to go to Real Madrid.

The influence of his agent Mino Raiola is hard to ignore, as it was believed Donnarumma would put pen to paper on an €80,000 contract extension before a meeting with the super agent, and now he has his heart set on the Bernabeu.

It's not that easy, as the club have suggested that he has a year left on his current deal that he is expected to see out in Milan, and that is something the club's ultras are fully behind.

The head of Milan's Curva Sud was speaking to Corriere dello Sport [via football-italia.net] when he outlined the fans' wish for him to waste away in the reserves for a year.

What’s happened is scandalous.

Milan did everything to keep him. Now, in my opinion, Donnarumma must be benched for a year.

The thing that makes us even angrier is that we’re back to making personalised chants just for him. Him, the person that had kissed the badge in our area of the stadium after the match against Juventus.

But how dare he? There’s a need to curb the powers of agents. He, after not giving any messages about his situation, had sent a message on what would happen.

We, as a Curva, confirm our support and backing for the club, like we showed last week.

You've got to love the anger of having to make new, hostile, chants for the goalkeeper. The struggles of being an ultra.

One thing that he has absolutely spot in was the point regarding the power of agents, but is it a bit much to suggest that a young player waste a season of their development and leave the club on a free?

AC Milan's large transfer funds mean that losing out on Madrid or PSG's fee wouldn't be the problem it would have been in recent times, so this is a real scenario that could play out.
