Tottenham are today bidding an emotional farewell to White Hart Lane today, as they briefly decamp to Wembley before moving to their new stadium at, er, White Hart Lane.
In fairness, moving stadium is a momentous occasion for any football fan, and it has proved no different for Tottenham fans. The club organised an official closing ceremony, in which 48 former players were invited one-by-one onto the field after the perfect send-off of all: a 2-1 victory over Manchester United that guarantees a top two finish for the first time since the days of Bill Nicholson.
While Spurs fans did get the chance to see many of their former players, countless others were not present, so they spent much of the game chanting about some of those who couldn't make it.
Paul Gascoigne's name rang around the stadium frequently, and the Spurs fans also sang in support of Aaron Lennon.
Lennon made 364 appearances for Spurs between 2005 and 2015, before moving to Everton. Earlier this month, Lennon was detained by police under the Mental Health act, and as he receives the treatment he needs, Spurs fans made it clear he was in their thoughts today.
