Arsenal navigated a tricky trip to Dean Court and left with three points as they secured a 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.
Mesut Ozil opened the scoring on 22 minutes, before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain doubled the lead no more than a minute later, and Arsene Wenger's men held on to go level with Tottenham, but it was a different London club's fans who were left pissed off after watching the match.
Notorious for their terribly unoriginal chants, the Arsenal fans took West Ham's Dimitri Payet song and popped Mesut Ozil's name in instead, which they then proceeded to belt out after the German bagged his goal.
We’ve got Ozil, Mesut Ozil, I just don’t think you understand. He’s Arsene Wenger’s man, he’s better than Zidane. We’ve got Mesut Ozil.
The Mesut Ozil song is in full swing again today!#AFC #BOUARShttps://t.co/pjpSk8a9Yc

West Ham fans were outraged. Having collectively gone through the arduous creative task of taking a well known song and putting a football player's name in it, nobody else is allowed to sing in this tune, apparently.
Listening to @Arsenal singing the 'ozil' song is so cringeworthy #payetisbetter

They don't get why Zidane is mentioned in the song. Payet is French, Ozil isn't. Embarrassing bunch. https://t.co/cXh7BubuWJ

I'd be embarrassed to sing that Ozil song knowing I've taken the exact same lyrics from another team

You wouldve thought that if Arsenal fans was that proud of having Mesut Ozil they would've taken the time and effort to write their own song

Love the fact Arsenal sing west hams payet song for ozil and think it's theirs ?

This "we've got Ozil" song by Arsenal fans is genuinely embarrassing. Especially considering they stole it from West Ham

Hearing Arsenal singing our Payet song about Ozil is so embarrassing. Morons #wevegotpayet ?

Can't believe Arsenal have outright copied West Ham's Payet song and just put Ozil's name in, worst fans in the world

The unfortunate irony that the tune in question has long been sang on the terraces at both Newcastle and Celtic seemingly lost on those who were outraged.
