There's not many things that Ireland has to be proud of in an international football sense. We anointed ourselves the greatest fans in the world after Euro 2012, yet we can probably all agree that title has firmly gone out the window since then (judging by attendance numbers if nothing else).
So, when an Irishman ascends to the top of a genuinely impressive international record, you better believe we'll celebrate it at every chance we get. If you didn't know by now, Robbie Keane has more goals than any other currently active international footballer.
Most international goals by active European players:
Robbie Keane (67)
Zlatan Ibrahimović (57)
Cristiano Ronaldo (55)
Wayne Rooney (50)— Squawka (@Squawka) September 8, 2015
We may well fail to qualify for an expanded Euro 2016 but at least we'll still have that at the end of the campaign. Whether Robbie will have many more chances to increase that total is up for debate but, while he's here, we'll make damn sure everyone knows about his record.
Which is why some fans were less than happy with the BBC when they decided to publish this graphic after Wayne Rooney became the first English footballer to reach the laughable landmark of just 50 international goals.
Wayne Rooney - he's no Ali Daei!
He is pretty good though, and so are this lot.

'Thierry Henry? Sure he only has 51 goals, did we ever happen to mention that Robbie Keane has 67.
Unsurprisingly, it continued like this for a quite a while.
It goes on significantly more after that but you get the point. You hear that BBC, don't you dare try and gloss over our one remaining bragging right.
