Nigel Pearson has had his say on the incident involving himself and James McArthur from Saturday's game between Leicester and Crystal Palace. Pearson appears to have grabbed the Crystal Palace midfielder by the throat while the player was on the ground following a coming together of the two.
He played down the incident and suggested that it had been blown out of proportion by Gary Lineker and pundits Danny Murphy and Jermaine Jenas after they discussed it on Match Of The Day.
“It’s not helpful when the three fountains of knowledge on Match of the Day make a mountain out of a molehill,”
It didn't take Lineker long to reply on Twitter, posting this half an hour after Pearson had made his comments.
Ah Nigel Pearson is blaming MOTD for making a mountain out of a molehill. We'd best be careful in future, the fella can look after himself.

Lineker was then asked by former News of the World sports editor Paul McCarthy whether he is a fountain of knowledge. Lineker appears to give some insight into how the confusion around Pearson's employment status may have arisen.
.@PaulMcCarthy66 if I was I'd tell you that he was sacked by one of the owners' family and reinstated by another, but then I'm not.
