Sean O'Rourke interviewed both Roy Keane and Roddy Doyle on RTE Radio One this morning as the madness around the new autobiography slowly begins to grind to a halt. While we didn't learn anything groundbreaking, perhaps most interesting was O'Rouke's interview with Eamon Dunphy afterwards.
Dunphy described it as an excellent book and was full of praise for Doyle, saying he did a wonderful job. Dunphy – who of course wrote the first Keane autobiography – says that this is a book that all youngsters who aspire to become a footballer should read.
In particular he was taken aback by how Doyle brings the reader on the final journey of a player whose body was quickly disintegrating.
