Tom Cleverley has a rather interesting take on why he failed to break through the Manchester United first team last season. The English midfielder feels that he was so driven in his pursuit of footballing perfection that it actually hindered his performances.
At United you’re told to play the right way and sometimes last year maybe I was being too much of a perfectionist.
Cleverley spoke highly of Roy Keane's impact at Aston Villa since he became the assistant manager. He is hopeful that the former Ireland captain will help him get back into the England squad.
Roy is demanding. He’s trying to add things into my game that I know I can do.
He’s pushing me to my limits and hopefully we can get that extra couple more per cent. When things need saying, he says them.
Sometimes you can take a few more risks which are needed to win games. That’s a side of my game which Roy and the manager (Paul Lambert) are getting back.
