It's now an annual balls.ie tradition. Here's 7 things we noticed from the launch photo for the 2015 SSE Airtricity League season.
1) The Cork City and Bray Wanderers jerseys are exactly the same. We thought they would be but this confirms it. There's at least the neck trim to separate Sligo Rovers and Derry City
2) Drogheda United are a disgrace for sending their keeper, Michael Slingerman, up for the launch in his keeper kit. If you must send a keeper, give him the home kit.
3) Ger O'Brien returns for a third year. What a trooper! He's the only man to make it to 2013 and 2014 too.
4) The uneven plinths make Derry's Ryan McBride look like the tallest man in the world. Google reckons he's 5 foot 10. We think he's somewhere in between.
5) The Dublin clubs are stuck at the back. Anti-Dublin bias or a sign of things to come?
6) There's a fair chance Galway's kit will turn up in web photo galleries with Deportivo Wanka from non-Irish folks who haven't heard of the Comer Property Group.
7) Despite Drogheda being a disgrace, but because of them, the models would make a decent starting XI. We go;
Slingerman (Drogs)
O'Brien (Pats) Kenna (Rovers) McBride (Derry) Dunleavy (Cork City)
Ward (Sligo) Duggan (Limerick) O'Donnell (Dundalk) Sammon (Longford) Cassidy (Bray)
Byrne (Bohs)
Galway's Paul Sinnott is on the bench.
We've had plenty of LOI stuff over the off season and we'll have loads more next week in the run up to the league kick off. Do let us know what you'd like to see.
