One thing that never fails to raise debate when the new FIFA game comes out every year are the player ratings.
Whether your favourite player is rated too low or a rival's player is rated too high, it's an absolute outrage. To be fair, it's always difficult to give ratings to players who have moved club, and sometimes players suffer a drastic drop in form over the course of a year, but it still causes a stir every season.
When someone does see their productivity drop, it makes the FIFA player ratings that were decided back in August look laughably out of date, and that was certainly the case for these Premier League strikers, who will no doubt see their overall ratings slashed when the new game comes out.
Radamel Falcao - Manchester United
EA Sports clearly thought Colombian front-man Falcao would rediscover his pre-injury form, but it's actually been sad to watch a once great player look as lost as he has done in a Manchester United shirt this season. Currently the highest overall rated striker in the Premier League, that is going to change.
Robin Van Persie - Manchester United
While Robin Van Persie hasn't quite had a disastrous season, he has certainly not been the same player he was as recently as the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Although he enjoyed a decent goalscoring record in the first half of the season, injuries, a loss of form, and the re-emergence of Wayne Rooney as a striker will see his stock fall. And rightly so.
Mario Balotelli - Liverpool
Most people were surprised to see Liverpool sign Mario Balotelli, and as the season has gone on his signing has managed to look progressively worse. Balotelli has offered nothing, and is not worthy of an 82 overall rating. It's a tough one for FIFA because he clearly does possess a lot of the attributes he has in game, but it's just that he just couldn't be arsed to use them. And he hasn't for some time.
Roberto Soldado - Tottenham Hotspur
What really needs to be said here? An 81 rating is ridiculous for a striker who simply can't score goals.
Emmanuel Adebayor - Tottenham Hotspur
Once a very useful Premier League striker, Adebayor is now a bench-warmer on a very high weekly wage. He almost definitely won't be at Spurs next year, but wherever he goes he won't be bringing an 80 overall rating with him.
Steven Fletcher - Sunderland
Another goalscorer who never scores goals is Scotland's Steven Fletcher. He can bang in a hat-trick against Gibralter, sure, but when it comes to Premier League goals you'll need to look elsewhere. No chance he will be a gold player on Ultimate Team, that 76 rating was never really a good call.
Emmanuel Riviere - Newcastle United
Nobody whiffs on air-shots quite like Newcastle striker Emmanuel Riviere. A French striker who arrived from Monaco with a good reputation after some impressive displays in Ligue 1 last season, Riviere has been embarrassingly bad, and while a 73 rating isn't exactly top-tier, it's still far too high.
