John O'Shea isn't the only hero performing at a high level in these Euro 2016 Qualifiers.

The following players are have dragged their teams to the top of the group tables and have put in some fantastic performances along the way.

Marek Hamsik - Slovakia

Napoli play-maker Hamsik would have been someone Slovakian fans looked to for some magic in their opening fixtures, and the man with the mohawk has delivered. The Slovakian talisman was excellent against Spain as his side earned a shock victory over the holders of the European Championship, and he followed it up with two goals in a 3-1 win over Belarus in Slovakia's third match, and third win, leaving them top of the table at this early stage.

Gylfi Sigurdsson - Iceland

Fans of the Premier League will have been well aware of Sigurdsson's knack for a goal, but nobody will have expected Iceland to have started in the way that they have. Three wins from three, largely thanks to the goals of the Swansea man, have Iceland sharing top spot in Group A with the Czech Republic. Sigurdsson himself is sharing the top spot of the goalscoring charts, with four.

Luka Modric - Croatia

It will come as no surprise that the main reason Croatia are topping Group H with a 100% record, is Real Madrid's Luka Modric. Everybody knows the quality that the midfield maestro can produce, but Modric has been at his best so far in this qualification campaign. Modric has helped himself to two goals so far, and Croatia look far more comfortable than group rivals Italy, despite the Azzuri also earning maximum points.

Ikechi Anya - Scotland

Watford winger Anya has been brilliant for Ireland's Group D rivals, Scotland. His lightning pace is a nightmare for defenders, and Anya has come up big with a goal against Germany (which he couldn't believe) and a crucial assist against Poland. Definitely one for Martin O'Neill to watch out for when Scotland host Ireland next month.

Omer Damari - Israel

Israel have recorded two wins from two in Group B, and it is largely thanks to the goals of Omer Damari, who plays his club football in the Austrian league. Damari bagged a hat-trick against Andorra and a crucial goal against Cyprus, and has become a hero in Tel Aviv. He joins Gylfi Sigurðsson and Robert Lewandowski atop the goalscoring charts

Borek Dockal - Czech Republic

Sparta Prague midfielder Borek Dockal has scored in all three of the Czech Rep's games so far, all of which they have won. Dockal will surely be on the radar of a whole host of major European clubs after his goals were vital in securing wins over the Netherlands, Turkey, and Kazakhstan.

Kyle Lafferty - Northern Ireland

To put it simply, Norwich City striker Kyle Lafferty has been unplayable in Northern Ireland's three group games so far in this qualification campaign. Lafferty looks to be in the form of his life as he has bagged a goal in each of Northern Ireland's wins, including a fantastic solo goal against Greece. His country currently sit on top of Group F, and if lafferty keeps this form up there is no reason that they can't stay there.
