With the January transfer window now in full swing, it will be interesting to see what Irish players will be part of deals over the coming weeks.
Quite a few of our footballers have found themselves in difficult situations this season, something they will look to remedy before the end of the month.
With that in mind, here are seven Irish players that could be on the move in the current transfer window.

Irish players that need a move in January
Andrew Omobamidele (Nottingham Forest)
Andrew Omobamidele may have only signed for Nottingham Forest in August, but it has already become clear that he needs a move away from the club as soon as possible.
The 21-year old has yet to make an appearance for the club this season and has only been included on the bench on a couple of occasions. It has already been reported that he could leave in January.
There would be no shortage of Championship interest in the centre back, especially if he was available on loan.
Michael Obafemi (Burnley)
Michael Obafemi's move to Burnley looked like an exciting one at the time, but a mix of injuries and lack of opportunities means that the striker should already been considering his future.
While he has only recently recovered from a lengthy injury layoff, Obafemi is unlikely to be given a run in the team anytime soon. He has played a grand total of 18 minutes since coming back into the fold at the start of November.
Like Omobamidele, there would be no shortage of Championship interest in his signature.
Conor Coventry (West Ham)
Even though the time for Conor Coventry to leave West Ham came a couple of years ago, he still finds himself at the club with little prospect of ever featuring for the first team. That is a really bad situation for a 23-year old player to be in.
The midfielder had a successful loan spell at Rotherham United last season and it was expected he would leave the London Stadium last summer. However, he did not even get a loan deal and his only contribution this season has been a handful of appearances on the bench.
He needs to move on this month for the sake of his own career.
Mark Travers (Bournemouth)
Mark Travers finds himself in an awkward spot at the moment. Bournemouth recalled him from his loan spell at Stoke City this season due to some injury issues at the goalkeeping position, only then to leave him sitting on the bench.
It remains to be seen if they would sanction another move this month, with the Kildare native currently acting as their no. 2.
From the player's point of view, he needs to be playing consistent minutes at this point in his career. He impressed at Stoke earlier in the campaign and would no doubt have quite a few clubs interested in signing him on loan for the remainder of the season.
Joe Hodge (Wolves)
Having previously looked as though he was about to make a breakthrough at Wolves last season, the last 12 months have played out in a rather unfortunate manner from the player's point of view.
The appointment of Julen Lopetegui last season saw the midfielder drop out of favour at Molineux, while he would then go on to pick up a couple of injuries. He has yet to play in the Premier League this season, although he has been named on the bench on a number of occasions.
A loan move this month would seem to suit all parties, with Hodge having yet to have a consistent run of first team games up to this point in his career. For a player of his potential, that is something that needs to change.
A good spell of football in a league such as the Championship would immediately vault him into the picture for Ireland consideration.
Tayo Adaramola (Crystal Palace)
While Tayo Adaramola is highly rated at Crystal Palace, his career has yet to take off at Selhurst Park. He has been on the bench in Premier League fixtures on a couple of occasions in recent weeks, but his only first team appearances for the club came in the FA Cup almost two years ago.
The player's previous loan spell at Coventry City did not go well, but at 20-years old, the left back now needs another temporary switch in order to kick on in his career.
Left back has been a problem position for Ireland for quite some time and he is viewed by many as someone who could contribute in that area in the long-term.
Josh Keeley (Spurs)
Josh Keeley's move from St Pat's to Spurs was an exciting one, although there was always an acceptance that they player was some way off the first team picture in North London.
He has acted as the club's first choice goalkeeper in their U23 side since his arrival, and while that certainly would have aided his development, a loan move to a lower league club is now the next step in that journey.
At 20-years old, the Meath man is still incredibly young for a goalkeeper. Still, it would be interesting to see how he would fare in first team football.
