In a week where Marco Materazzi took it upon himself to take him out for a cheeky photo with the statute of him receiving that infamous head-butt from Zinedene Zidane in the '06 World Cup final, Man United have decided to unveil a statue of their own. Thankfully for United fans, the statue their club is about to unveil is not in the same vein as the hideous one the Fulham unleashed to us last year. Fulham's owner, Mohamed Al Fayed thought it would be a fitting tribute to the West London club to spend hundreds and thousands of pounds on a statue of Michael Jackson. It's still something that baffles the footballing world.

United however have decided that their statue will be of Sir Alex Ferguson which is a tribute to his 26 year reign in charge at Old Trafford. Ferguson had the East stand named after him last year and on the 23rd of November, The Red Devils will unveil a further tribute to their manager ahead of their league game with QPR who in fact were his first home opposition when he started his amazing career all that time ago. During his time at Old Trafford, Ferguson has won twelve league title, two European cups, five FA Cups, four League Cups, the Cup-Winners' Cup, the Super Cup, the Intercontinental Cup and the Club World Cup.

First a stand, now a statue. What next for the greatest manager that football has ever seen?
