For the last few weeks there has been plenty of speculation around a possible move from Manchester United to sign Seamus Coleman but it looks like a January deal may be off the cards, unless Everton accept an opening bid.
The Mirror today are reporting that United may not sign anyone in this window due to the fact that Van Gaal is confident his current squad can secure Champions League football. This would mean that bids for Kevin Strootman and Mats Hummels are definitely off the cards, while they may be priced out of a move for Coleman.
A United source told The Mirror:
It was always the case that we would not be going into the market unless our targets became available. The reality is that none of the players we are interested in are available for transfer.
In saying that, there are also rumours doing the rounds that they could bid for Nathaniel Clyne instead.
