Mario Balotelli has apologised for last night's controversial Instagram post which garnered much attention online.
He posted a meme of Super Mario, the top half of which you've probably seen before. It was the text at the bottom which really got him in trouble though.
The post was called racist and anti-Semitic with suggestions it could lead to FA sanctions.
Balotelli attempted to mitigate the controversy by tweeting "my Mom is jewish so all of u shut up please".
The Liverpool striker issued an apology this morning for the post saying it was meant to be "anti-racist with humour".
