Eamon Dunphy was scathing in his appraisal of Man City's players following their exit from the Champions League at the hands of Barcelona.
This was his assessment of some members of their squad.
Fernandinho: "he was on the pitch tonight and you wouldn't have guessed it".
Fernando: "wasn't on the pitch but you wouldn't know much difference".
Mangala: "didn't play tonight because he's useless".
Yaya Toure: "An obvious waster. Won't work. Complaining about a birthday cake he didn't get last summer after they won the championship."
Nasri: "You don't want Nasris in the club".
Dunphy washed Manuel Pellegrini of any blame for mediocre work in the transfer market. For him responsibility for that should fall at the feet of Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano, the director of football and chief executive respectively of the club.
