The quarter-finals of the 2014 World Cup saw the Netherlands secure a 2-1 win over Mexico after a controversial injury-time penalty won by Arjen Robben was converted by Klaas Jan Hunterlaar.
Many Mexico supports felt a sense of injustice at their exit. Bayern Munich winger Robben said later that he did dive in the game, but not for the penalty, Mexico captain Rafael Marquez also claimed that the Dutch star told him after the game that it was not a penalty.
Here is the moment in question:
However no Mexico fan took the defeat as badly as @Josesomor26, who proceded to tweet the Dutch FA every day for 392 days after the incident.
1 año, @KNVB @FIFAcom @miseleccionmx no era penal.

This tweet from June 29th marked the one year anniversary of the game, and it states "one year, it wasn't a penalty".
Mexico beat Jamaica 3-1 to win their seventh Gold Cup yesterday and after 392 consecutive days of tweeting, the Dutch FA finally replied to congratulate @Josesomoe26 on Mexico's success.
¡Felicidades @Josesomor26! #erapenalpic.twitter.com/lV821FAOJV

The reply states "Congratulations @Josesumor26 #itwasapenalty".
Great commitment from the Mexico fan, going to give the benefit of the doubt that his tweets weren't automated, and great show from the official KNVB twitter account to reply, but the question remains, was it a penalty or not?
