Where some people get off, I don't know. There are rumours flying around in today's papers about Roy Keane and I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Here, with some of it being absolute bullshit. No, Roy Keane will not be appearing on the show.
He mentioned that he had offers from the producers, when speaking in an interview with Shortlist magazine who, by the way, warrant at least some sort of mention, given that by reading some reports you'd almost think Keane just announced this on some open pulpit in the town square.
Anyhow in today's Irish Sun they at least go with a headline which does indeed rule Keane out of an appearance in next month's show, and if their source is to be believed, he turned down a shitload of money when rejecting the offer.
They report that Keane would have 'easily' been given at least €500,000 to appear on the show. A source told them:
He would be the all-time dream guest. The publicity he'd bring would pay for itself.
Of course, during the interview with Shortlist, Keane did say he'd be open to the idea in the future but it will not be this year. A second's thought would lead one to the conclusion that a man with two jobs that require him to be in the UK and Ireland couldn't be swanning off to Australia for a month but a second is long and sometimes a thought is difficult.
