For a while it looked like Steven Gerrard was going to be the villain in Liverpool's clash with QPR. With just over 10 minutes remaining and the game tied at 1-1, he missed from the penalty spot. Later he admitted that he had changed his mind about the placement during the run up.
In a not unfamiliar role, he turned out to be the hero. The 34-year-old popped up to meet a Philippe Coutinho corner and head past Rob Green.
After the game Gerrard was asked by the BBC's Damian Johnson if it was his greatest ever header. The Liverpool captain was forced to remind the reporter of that one nearly 10 years ago against AC Milan in the Champions League final.
