Late goals have been a theme for Ireland during Euro 2016 qualifying. Shane Long was the latest to pop up with a crucial effort, joining Aiden McGeady and John O'Shea. The goal rewarded an excellent second half performance from the Boys in Green.
This is how Twitter reacted to the game.
Great point that "away" to Poland! Love the attitude of the boys tonight Well done to them all! Very important goal that might be for us!????????????

Vote Yes, so Eamon Dunphy can marry Wes Hoolahan #IREVPOL

Good job that table is there hiding Dunphy's boner for Hoolahan ????????

Force of nature kind of recovery from Ireland, who were as bullish in the 2nd half as they were limp in the 1st. Is a draw enough though?
— George Caulkin (@CaulkinTheTimes) March 29, 2015
Another 1-1. There's a clause in the Constitution that 90 per cent of Irish games finish 1-1.

If football matches were 89 minutes Ireland would have four points in this group. As it is they've eight! #COYBIG
— Alan Foley (@alanfoley79) March 29, 2015
Second 45 best of MON era; win or bust in Scotland and 2nd half press and intensity must be replicated, with right formation, for 90 mins
— david kelly (@dk3lly) March 29, 2015
Good second half from Ireland, if slightly headless at times. Deserve draw. Hopefully Poland as poor in Warsaw and play-offs not gone yet.
— Ewan MacKenna (@EwanMacKenna) March 29, 2015
Poland have done a Munster on it.... Whipped up all the away tickets????????
— Ronan O Gara (@RonanOGara10) March 29, 2015
I take it Ireland's love affair with Poland is over. If Pope John Paul II came back tomorrow, he wouldn't sell out Vicar Street.
