It seems everyone in football has on opinion in Ched Evans. In the week that Evans looked to be on his way to Oldham before ultimately being turned away once more for all manner of reasons, Mark Lawrenson is the latest high profile figure to add his two controversial cents. After Gordon Taylor's much publicised parallel drawing between Evans and Hillsborough, former Ireland international Lawrenson saw it fit to suggest that Evans may be a victim in all this.

It must be said that the six seconds worth of Vine footage has can take things out of context, however, given that Lawrenson is rarely lauded for his punditry skills at the best of times, the statement which came on BBC's Football Focus can certainly be described as an ill-advised comment.
Lawrenson just lost what little credibility he ever had. No, Lawro, Ched Evans is not a victim. There is only one victim. #BBCSport — John Connor (@bootleian) January 10, 2015
Really, Lawrenson just suggested Ched Evans may be a victim on #FootballFocus. What a lack of intelligence.

No Mark Lawrenson, Ched Evans, the unrepentant rapist, is not a victim here you vile little man. Time to turn off Football Focus. — John Petrie (@John_Petrie) January 10, 2015
Lawrenson on Ched Evans: "You almost think, is he a victim in this too?". Erm, no Lawro. No.

Mark Lawrenson? Did you really just say that? Seriously? — DARREN PARKIN (@DP_tweets) January 10, 2015
Pretty sure we've just seen Mark Lawrenson's last appearance on the BBC

Hang on, did Lawrenson just wonder if Ched Evans is a victim in all of this? #footballfocus — Richard Milway (@Richardmilway) January 10, 2015
"Is HE a victim as well?" - Mark Lawrenson* on rapists. * ... a man that you and I pay to say things. #FootballFocus @BBCSport
