The news that the football world was waiting for is finally here, David Moyes is the new manager of Real Sociedad. The news was confirmed by the bastion of Spanish football information (and sometimes mis-information) that is Guillem Balague and it looks like he will sign on for a year and a half at the Basque club.

Not longer after Balague's confirmation, the club made the announcement official.

A brief statement welcomed Moyes to the club and announced that he would be officially unveiled in San Sebastian on Tuesday. Moyes will have his work cut out for him in La Liga with Sociedad languishing just outside the relegation area despite a spirited 2-1 victory over champions Atletico Madrid on Sunday.
