The first leg of Stevenage and Southend's League Two playoff semi-final took place yesterday and finished 1-1. What everyone was talking about after the game though was the clash of heads between Stevenage's Bira Dembele and Southend's Michael Timlin.
With 27 minutes elapsed the two were involved in a full blooded challenge for the ball which resulted in the them requiring a total of 22 stitches.
We're going to presume that Timlin required the majority of those. It looks like someone took a chisel to his face. They should've brought Stitch Duran into sort this one out.
Southend's Michael Timlin got smashed up in that first half. Horrific looking gash. #PlayOffs pic.twitter.com/AQ1QzTJCMw

Timlin was substituted after receiving medical attention but Dembele continued for the remainder of the half before being replaced at half time.
