Despite having a major turnover of managers this season, Watford secured promotion to the Premier League today. The ecstatic moment when they discovered that they had been promoted was captured by player Miguel Layun.
Watford beat Brighton in the lunchtime kick-off and then awaited full time of the 3pm games. Two late goals, one from Ross McCormack for Fulham against Middlesbrough and one from Jordan Bowery for Rotherham against Norwich, lead to the decisive results.
Slavisa Jokanovic (he's the one that didn't get along with Keith Andrews) is the man who has lead them to the Premier League. The Serbian is Watford's fourth manager this season. Their Championship campaign began with Giuseppe Sannino in charge but disagreements with players lead to the appointment of Oscar Garcia. The Spaniard was forced to step down due to health problems. In came Billy McKinlay, for eight days, before they finally settled on Jokanovic back in October.
Maybe there really is something to that new manager bounce theory after all.
