Football fans spent the weekend drooling over Charlie Adam's halfway line effort against Chelsea on Saturday. A bit less than 24 hours earlier, the League of Ireland had seen a similar goal.
Waterford United's Brian Nolan scored with a stunning strike from just over ten metres inside the opposition half against Shelbourne at the RSC on Friday. Stepping up in midfield, the captain stole possession from a Shels player and spotting keeper Greg Murray off his line had a go.
It put Waterford up 2-0 at half time. The game would finish 2-2 with Shelbourne scoring twice in the final ten minutes.
