It seemed to be a happy Fenerbahce team that was travelling home last night. Fresh from a 5-1 win away to Black sea side Rizespor, things suddenly took a turn for the worst.
Several shots were aimed at the bus carrying the Turkish Super Lig leaders as they passed through the town of Trabzon in North Eastern Turkey after the game. The driver of the coach was wounded in the face, but managed to bring the bus to a stop before being taken to hospital.
None of the players were injured in the attack, nor any management staff or the club's vice-president who were also on the bus.
The driver is expected to make a full recovery.
