Robbie Savage won't be facing a driving ban, despite being caught doing 99mph on an 80mph motorway, and the reason why is truly unique to the BBC pundit.
The former Wales international has avoided a ban because his lawyers argued that he would be constantly abused on public transport, and as such should be allowed to use his £230,000 Bentley.
Savage told the Magistrates court that he is regularly accosted in public, and that his car is a "safe haven" for him. The judge ruled in his favour and as punishment, Savage will have to pay a fine of £600 and three points on his licence which he will no doubt welcome in place of the 28 day driving ban that he could have been handed.
Would Robbie Savage really be that badly abused that he couldn't possibly taking public transport? ...Yes, actually he probably would. Even his former team-mate Paul Scholes thinks he's a "knob-head"
