We all knew it deep down anyway but now it's official, Robbie Keane is the MLS Most Valuable Player. Keane has been named the league MVP for the 2014 season after he helped LA Galaxy to the MLS final with 19 goals and 14 assists.
Keane beat out competition from New England Revolution's Lee Nguyen and Seattle Sounders' Obafemi Martins to land the accolade which was last won by Mike MaGee. Keane is the first Galaxy player to claim the award since Landon Donovan in 2009, that's despite the fact that Galaxy have won two out of the last three MLS titles.
Keane will hope to add to the personal award by firing LA Galaxy to another championship title when they take on the New England Revolution in the decider on Sunday.
Congrats to Ireland captain Robbie Keane on being named @MLS MVP (The League's Player of the Year). The first European winner of the prize!
