On Sunday, former Arsenal defender John Jensen lifted the lid on some rumours circling around the Emirates that Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny had landed himself in quite a bit of bother with Arsene Wenger. According to Jensen Arsene Wenger is considering dropping the Pole for the rest of the season due to some undisclosed misbehaviour.
Now, the Mirror are reporting that Szczesny's possible banishment is due to him having a sneaky cigarette in the showers following Arsenal's loss to Southampton on New Year's Day.
It seems Wenger may have let fly at his keeper following his less than impeccable performance against the Saints and he then retreated to the showers to light up. That has seen him landed with £20,000 fine and the possibility of being dropped in favour of David Ospina for an extended period of time. The Colombian did take over for the FA Cup clash with Hull, however, Arsenal have denied Jensen's claims that Szczesny will never play for the club again.
We hope that smoke was worth it Wojciech.
