There is some words that creep into the common vernacular, usually by way of the United States, that make you want to weep for the future of the English language. Bae is the worst example of this regrettable phenomenon to hit these shores in many a year.
If anyone is lucky enough to not know what it means then we will bite the bullet and explain. It is used by some people to refer to their girlfriend/boyfriend/lover/significant other/babydoll/honeybunch. It is a scourge that is overtaking some of our most impressionable young'uns.
Now, normally it is not the kind of language that you hear in civilised conversation. However, the MLS' desire to become a serious, well regarded league has fallen into farce today with their attempt to celebrate the reuniting of Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane at LA Galaxy.
Now leave aside the fact that Gerrard and Keane's memories from their time spent together are very limited, but nonetheless, the MLS found a picture of the pair in a tender embrace and thought the following was a good idea.
