Gazza was on BT Sport on Sunday for 'Fletch and Sav' after the Spurs and West Ham game at White Hart Lane.
The former Spurs player was in good humour, telling several anecdotes from his career, but he also found some time for introspection.
He said that he finds it hard to watch football these days as he keeps thinking 'what could have been'.
Sometimes, I find it hard to go to games. Because I watch my clips, I love watching my clips, I love it, but it's when I come to games I think 'that could've been me'.
I keep thinking I could've done that pass. I'm analysing myself not the players, I'm thinking 'what would I have done?' So, I drive myself nuts.
Russell Brand (a West Ham fan) was also in studio and had some supportive words for the troubled ex-footballer.
You've given the game all of them beautiful moments and you've given the fans all of those memories both fans of opposing teams and fans teams you played for and that greatness is still in you.
Even if your body can't express it through football now, the greatness itself is still in you.
You mustn't feel sad you've given the game so much. You continue to give, you still have a future.

Brand also said that the only reason he a made the trip to White Hart Lane was to meet the former English international.
I wouldn’t normally come to White Hart Lane unless I was in disguise and hijab-ed up but I am here to see Gazza. One of the figures that transcends clubs because he is such a beautiful figure and a genius.
