German third division side FC Carl Zeiss Jena might be ruing their decision to allow a heavy metal band when they got a glimpse of their new jersey with "HEAVEN SHALL BURN" emblazoned across the front.
Germans tend to enjoy their heavy metal and none more so than Jurgen Klopp who came out with this epic quote:
Arsenal play like an orchestra, but it's a silent song, yeah? I like heavy metal
The band are from the club's town of Thuringia, Germany and they play their football in the third division. The team got to play the final game of the season against Magdeburg wearing the tasty new jersey.
The lead guitar player told the clubs official website
For us, we are big fans Zeiss and as football supporters, this project is a dream come true. We are concerned primarily about the message: Support your local team. Any fan who supports the club on his doorstep deserves our respect. We are not about showing the big middle finger. The point is not to forget the little guys and their meaning to their respective city, region and society. We are Jena fans and now we have the chance to return as musicians who, to some extent, are surprised by our own success. And we do it gladly and call on you to do likewise: Support, whether as a fan or sponsor, the club in front of your door. This is important.
We think it is a pretty slick jersey and might be looking into purchasing one to add to our collection.
