Javier Mascherano Takes El Clasico Antics To A Whole New Level Of Embarrassment

El Clasico is without a doubt the highest-profile football match in the World today, with hundreds of millions of viewers from all over the planet tuning in to watch the biggest stars of the modern game compete for the two biggest clubs around.

So why do these star players so often decide to make an absolute tit out of themselves for the sake of possibly getting an opponent into trouble? It beggars belief.

Despite being on the winning side, Javier Mascherano was perhaps the biggest loser on the day, as cameras captured this moment of complete bullshit where the tough tackling Argentine midfielder pretends Ronaldo kicked out at him, and then acted as if a poke in the side of the head was of similar discomfort to a full force punch in the face.

Luis Suarez's sublime control and finish decided the game, after an absolutely mind-blowing back-heel assist from Karim Benzema had pulled Madrid level, yet these two sumptuous moments of skill are not the main talking point from a game that featured a laughably high amount of free-kicks, and even more laughable amount of writhing around on the ground in faux-agony.
