As we highlighted earlier Stephen Hunt has caused quite a bit of stir with his column in this week's Sunday Independent, where he says
To be fair to Hunt – and perhaps I'm missing something – I think he was trying to point out that professional footballers also sacrifice their every day life in order to excel but many took it up as a criticism of GAA players. Either way he certainly got a big reaction.
Stephen Hunt is some clown! Wonder if he'd know anything about commitment when he was working 9-5 or more & trying to fit in training! #ham

Someone should remind Stephen Hunt in today's @TheSundayIndo that when he is so busy resting we are busy working! — Dick Clerkin (@dickclerkin8) November 30, 2014
@stephenhunt1010 @dickclerkin8 @TheSundayIndo you're on the back foot as soon as you use Brolly as a defence

The ending of Interstellar makes more sense than Stephen Hunt's writing today...rest less therefore less committed?? #GAA #YouWanSome #Hunty — Ciarán Lenehan (@CiaranLen) November 30, 2014
So Stephen hunt reckons gaa players wouldn't have the mental strenght for soccer because its all about training and resting #whataclown
