The Snail Has Crashed: Ireland Remain Stationary In FIFA World Rankings

The unstoppable snail's pace that Ireland were moving up the FIFA world rankings has now stopped. It seems that our loss to Scotland (now ranked 36th, Up 1), is offset with the win against the Americans (now 28th, down 5). We are now sandwiched between the likes of Egypt and Zambia.

Ireland will be looking to get back on the unrelenting upward motion on the rankings list when they face off against Poland in a vital Euro 2016 qualifier in March at the Aviva Stadium. Poland have themselves moved up to 40th, while fellow Euro 2016 qualifying rivals Germany remain in 1st place.
