Mick McCarthy is starting to build quite a collection of Irish footballers at Ipswich.

The Yorkshire Evening Post report that Noel Hunt is close to making a loan move to Portman Road from Leeds which could become permanent in January.

Hunt has not scored a competitive goal for Leeds and has not made an appearance for them since August. At Ipswich he will join other Irish players - his brother Stephen, Daryl Murphy, Jay Tabb, David McGoldrick, Conor Sammon (on loan from Derby) and likely Sean St. Ledger.

St. Ledger is close a short-term deal after being without a club following his release from Leicester back in May.
