It seems the people of the UK aren't as keen on watching the English football team as they once were. Early TV figures for yesterday have shown that ITV's coverage of England's Euro 2016 qualifier against Slovenia was viewed by an average 4.56 millions viewers. In comparison, one of ITV's rivals - BBC - were showing "Pointless" which, at the same time, pulled in an average viewership of 4.99 million.
This 'celebrity' edition of the show hosted by Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman played host to contestants such as Vanessa Feltz, Roger Black and Penny Smith and they drew a peak viewership of 7.26 million comparison to the England game's 6.3 million.
However, it's not all bad news for the England football team. After Norway's visit to Wembley brought the lowest attendance since the London venue's refurbishment, crowds have been rising steadily, and the Slovenia game was the highest attended England game since the World Cup disaster with 82,000 watching the 3-1 victory.
