Joan Edmundsson became a hero in the Faroe Islands last night. He was the goal scorer as his nation defeated Greece 1-0 in the European Championships qualifiers in Athens. The former Newcastle player hit the back of the net in the 61st minute for the side now managed by former Danish international Lars Olsen.
The Faroese players really enjoyed the post match celebrations following a victory over the team that only lost out on a penalty shootout in the second round of the World Cup this summer.
Here's the goal.
