Yesterday, Joey Barton was celebrated on Twitter for giving a fitting tribute to the remarkably consistent hair of Steven Gerrard, but today it seems as though he is once again a villain, after upsetting a few folks with some comments over the discussion of transfers.
It started with a tweet regarding his future at Queens Park Rangers:
I am still of the belief that if you're part of a team that goes down. You should try to help them back up. But that decision is not mine.
— Joseph Barton (@Joey7Barton) May 15, 2015
Which clearly sparked a debate that Joey Barton wasn't too pleased with, as he followed it up with this gem of a tweet:
A lot of people talking on here like they've been involved in contract/transfer negotiations. Not sure how when you work in Sainsbury's.

Naturally, an awful lot of folk misinterpreted the tweet as some sort of dig at Sainsbury's, but Barton cleared that up by making it very clear who he was referring to:
Remember Football Manager isn't reality. Stick to picking your Fantasy Football team. Leave the real stuff to those paid to do it... ????????'s

While it would be easy to criticise Barton for talking down about a game that is very close to our hearts, we should really be commending his stunning emoji work in place of typing out the word "bellends".
The Joey Barton twitter account remains one of the more interesting in terms of footballers giving opinions, regardless of whether you like him or not, it's a breath of fresh air from the endless "Thank you @Adidas for my new Predator Instincts. Have you got the instinct? #MyAdidas #PredatorInstinct" bullshit that occupy 90% of professional footballer accounts.
