Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor is having a really tough time as of late. The meteoric rise of Harry Kane has ensured that Adebayor watches most of Spurs' Premier League action from the bench, and when he does get to play he has been ineffective, but there is perhaps a good reason behind that; his family.
The Togolese striker has had many problems and faced many difficulties in both his career and his life, so you would hope that he has a solid family relationship that he can turn to for support, but it appears as though the opposite is the case.
In a lengthy and emotional post to his personal Facebook page, Adebayor attempted to detail the plethora of problems his family members have caused him in recent years so that other African families can learn from his experiences and avoid the issues he now faces.
Wow.
To sum up:
-His mother just decided she didn't want to know her granddaughter.
-He sent his Mum to a faith healer in Nigeria for a week but she left after two days.
-He gave his mother money to start a cookie business but she still claims he doesn't support her.
-His sister moved in to his holiday home and started renting it out.
-His sister insulted him when he asked for an explanation.
-He gave his brother money to start a business which he never did.
-He gave his brother money to attend their other brother's funeral and he never showed.
-His brother claimed he had an involvement in their other brother's death.
-His brother sold fake stories to The Sun for cash.
-His brother wrote a letter to Real Madrid attempting to get him fired.
-His OTHER brother stole 21 mobile phones after Emmanuel ensured he got into a French football academy.
-His mother wouldn't let him attend his brother's funeral but expected him to pay for it.
-When he tried to resolve the family issues they each demanded a house in Europe and a weekly wage, for being his family.
The poor chap. The Adebayor family don't sound like the most supportive bunch.
