Following the confirmation that Memphis Depay will be a Manchester United player next season, the Manchester United transfer news has been ramping up once again as it is fairly obvious that he won't be the only new recruit at Old Trafford next season.
One of the players whose name is being touted as a potential candidate to join Louis Van Gaal's men is Thomas Muller, and while the speculation of a move away from the Allianz Arena for the German international kicked up a notch following his public declaration of displeasure with Pep Guardiola's tactics last week, it seems that something he said last summer is being used again this time out:
It’s a secret for nobody, Louis van Gaal and I have a relationship that goes beyond that which is normal between a player and a coach.
It's clear that they are fond of working with each other. Van Gaal gave Muller his first team chance at Bayern after all.
Muller, however, also went on to say this:
However, I have a contract with Bayern until 2017.
Unfortunately for those places reporting this as news, Muller has since signed a contract extension until 2019.
That's not to say he won't sign for Manchester United this summer, if he does want to leaver Bayern then surely United are in a great position to sign him, but it won't be because he's going around telling people how great Louis Van Gaal is again... Yet.
