Happy Valentine's Day.
For those of you who may not have a special someone to share this commercial cash-cow with, or even if you do and just appreciate a sentimental moment in football, we are taking a look back at transfers that were made purely from the heart.
Romantic transfers are a rare thing, but when they do happen, it's beautiful.
David Connolly to AFC Wimbledon
This one absolutely melted our hearts here at Balls.ie back in January of last year, as Dave decided to end his playing career at Wimbledon, where he enjoyed his best spell as a player.
When you think of the hero that is David Connolly, you think Wimbledon, so this was only right.
Fernando Torres to Atletico Madrid
After a nightmare at Chelsea that turned one of the world's most feared strikers into an internet joke, El Nino returned home to a hero's welcome at Atleti, and he even managed to rediscover some form and score a few big goals for his boyhood club. When Mario Mandzukic left for Juventus he was even able to change back to his iconic number nine.
45000 fans turned up to welcome him home. He bagged his 100th La Liga goal just last week.
Ludovic Giuly to Monts d'Or Azergues
Purely for the love of the game.
39-year-old Ludovic Giuly still runs the show in the second tier of non-league football in France after he returned to the amateur club that he once played for alongside his father as a youngster.
What a man.
Robbie Fowler to Liverpool
"GOD" was back.
After breaking the hearts of Kopites everywhere by leaving for Leeds, and then playing for Man City, Fowler finally returned home to Anfield in 2006.
He wasn't the same player, but that didn't matter as the Liverpool fans merely wanted to show how much they loved him once again.
David Beckham to PSG
It's David Beckham and Paris, it was always meant to be.
The fact that he played better than most expected him to and cried as he left the pitch for the final time as a player only to be hoisted aloft by his teammates just cements the fact that this was a great decision.
Becks' final farewell in the city of love.
Carlos Tevez to Boca Juniors
Tevez raised a few eyebrows with his decision to bow out of European football as a beaten Champions League finalist with Juve when he could have either stayed with the Italian giants or moved to nearly any club he wanted, but there was only one club for him.
It was clear that Carlos Tevez was constantly pining for his homeland while he was in Europe, and now he's back and is being showered with love by the adoring Boca fans.
Dirk Kuyt to Feyenoord
He arrived in a helicopter, and his presence was immediately felt as he launched Feyenoord into a title race by bagging 10 goals in his first 10 games.
Feyenoord have since slipped out of the title race, but Kuyt's move was great to see, if for nothing other than this adorable video of his telling his family they are going back to Holland.
De eerste reactie van zijn kinderen als @Kuyt verklapt dat ‘papa’ weer bij Feyenoord gaat voetballen. Genieten!https://t.co/XWAMR4bEqh

Damien Duff to Shamrock Rovers
As if Duffer deciding to retire in Dublin wasn't enough, the fact that he donated all of his earnings with Rovers to charity means that his has to go down as one of the most admirable transfers ever.
He didn't quite have the impact he would have wanted on the pitch, but his gesture saw the nation swoon over Duffer once more.
Theirry Henry on loan to Arsenal
Another transfer that happened purely for the love was Theirry Henry's return to Arsenal.
He was playing for the New York Red Bulls in the MLS, and wanted to keep fit in the run-up to a new season, so he came back to Arsenal much to the delight of every Gunners fan.
The roar when he scored against Leeds in the FA Cup meant this one couldn't be ignored.
Robbie Keane to Inter Milan, Spurs, Liverpool, Celtic, & LA Galaxy
Few players get to play for the team they supported as a boy, and even fewer get to do that five different times.
Ok, we apologise for the tired Keane cliché, and we actually have crunched the numbers before to find out that he actually said boyhood club for both Liverpool and Celtic, before describing Inter, Spurs, and Galaxy as dreams that came true.
Couldn't resist.
