The Irish Independent took criticism today for a tweet and article comparing a female member of the Bray Wanderers backroom staff to Chelsea first team doctor Eva Carneiro.
The tweet has since been deleted but the article to which it linked still remains, for the moment at least.
Here's how the social media post was worded:
It looks like @BrayWanderers have a physio to rival Chelsea's Eva Carneiro!
It also featured a picture of the physio on the pitch during Bray's 0-0 draw with Derry City on Friday night.
Both the tweet and article received plenty of reaction, the bulk of which was extremely negative.
This kind of thing is really not helpful - I'd have expected better from @IndoSport #equality https://t.co/P6VYDO6j8s

I'm no fan of the various "isms" but this is seriously distasteful from a national broadsheet https://t.co/8wZdHdJwSc
