Earlier in the week we brought you the news that a number of sites were reporting on a story that originated in Spanish newspaper AS which claimed Manchester United goalkeeper David Dea had not spoken to Louis Van Gaal in months.
If you read that article, you would have seen us suggest that AS may not be the most reliable source, and today David De Gea has come out and said that the report is in fact absolute bullshit.
Speaking to MUTV, the Spanish stopper dismissed all talk of a spat with his manager:
Everything that has been written in the press about us not getting on is a lie. We both want the best for the club and the team, and the stories are complete lies.
He continued to suggest that he is enjoying his time in Manchester and wishes to keep on improving:
I think this is the best period of my career. I am playing the best football that I’ve ever played. I’m really enjoying it at the moment and I’m just trying to improve with every training session and every game that goes by, giving 100 per cent and concentrating to the maximum. That’s the way I want to continue.
So Manchester United fans can breathe a sigh of relief, although we're sure they weren't too worried anyway.
