Paul Scholes was a guest on Newstalk's 'Off The Ball' earlier tonight, and he answered a wide range of questions on subjects like his inability to tackle and his involvement with Irish Autism Action.

Aside from suggesting that Ryan Giggs was still the best player at Manchester United, Scholsey quashed one rumour that has been following him since his days as an apprentice at Manchester United, and named a friend and former team-mate as the reason behind it.

Question: Is it true that they put you in a washing machine at Carrington?

Scholes: No. Nicky Butt made that up for the 'Class Of 92', it did actually happen but it weren't me it were another lad. There was two of us from a place called Middleton who were schoolboys and we were both the tiniest lads so we probably could have fit in there, but it wasn't me it was him.
