Paul Scholes was a guest on Newstalk's 'Off The Ball' earlier tonight, and he answered a wide range of questions on subjects like his inability to tackle and his involvement with Irish Autism Action.

Question: Is it true that they put you in a washing machine at Carrington?

Scholes: No. Nicky Butt made that up for the 'Class Of 92', it did actually happen but it weren't me it were another lad. There was two of us from a place called Middleton who were schoolboys and we were both the tiniest lads so we probably could have fit in there, but it wasn't me it was him.
