We hope you had a fruitful return to fantasy football. Here's @BigManBakar's big learnings from Gameweek 1 and some tips on how to position your team for Gameweek 2.
1. Ben Chilwell is needed in your teams
Some really encouraging positions were taken up by Chilwell at the weekend, and it bodes well for him going forward.
Chilwell was first for touches in the final third among all players in the Chelsea v Liverpool fixture and was ranked second for touches in the final third among defenders across Gameweek 1 in the entire league.
He had two big chance involvements, more than any other defender in GW1.
Things Chelsea fans did not want to see 😞

A fixture run which reads West Ham, Luton, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Burnley and Fulham from Gameweek 2 is as good as it gets.
2. Estupinan is an attacking monster
Pervis Estupinan is an absolute powerhouse!
Looking at his statistics, he managed to create 6 scoring opportunities, generate 2 significant goal-scoring chances, and take 2 shots within the penalty area at the weekend.
Furthermore, he ranked first in terms of expected goal involvement (xGi) compared to all the other players in Brighton.
On a different occasion, he could have achieved a massive performance. I'm truly delighted to have him as a part of my team!

3. Keep an eye on Nicolas Jackson
No player registered more big chances in the league than Nicolas Jackson this week.
Owners can count themselves massively unlucky with just a 1 pointer, but early signs are promising. The fixtures are so good that the goals will eventually come.
For me Nicolas Jackson is only going to get better, as long as he stays fit. pic.twitter.com/bUA6pqNsH6

4. Hold your horses with Eze
Here's Eberechi Eze's GW1 League Rank
- Shots: 1st
- Chances created: 1st
- Shots in the box: 2nd
Eze was one of the few £6.5m mids not to return in GW1.
The stats are encouraging though, he was on all set pieces & playing just behind the striker. He was one of the biggest statistical underperformers of Gameweek 1.
Hold your horses - the points will come!
5. Joao Pedro is an excellent budget enabler
Well done to all those who punted on Joao Pedro in Gameweek 1!
He was top for shots in the box, big chances and penalty area touches in a Brighton side that created over 4 xG at the weekend.
Despite playing as a #10, Pedro registered 11 touches in the penalty area, which was the 2nd highest among all players in the league.

Crucially, he played close to 90 mins as well.
For context, Here is an overview of his stats over the Gameweek, in comparison with the other outfielders:
League rank in GW1
- Big chances: 2nd
- Penalty area touches: 2nd
- Shots in the box: 3rd
Early signs are encouraging, enjoy those points and price rises!
